  • The House on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Kareem Olayiwola Ahmed as the new Clerk to the House
  • Hon. Danbaba said the Federal and the state governments are putting necessary machinery in place to cushion the effects of the petrol subsidy removal on the citizenry

The Kwara State House of Assembly has urged residents to contact the proper authorities for redress if they feel shortchanged by any filling station in the state.

The legislative branch of the government urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to challenge the state’s ministry of business, innovation, and technology’s measure unit or department to uphold its duty of ensuring that the state’s petrol stations strictly adhere to standard weighing and measuring.

In a resolution, Thursday on a motion on the need for government to control the short-changing of fuel consumers by petroleum marketers in the state, the House equally urged the governor to direct the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology to collaborate with the office of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission to ensure sanity in the operations of fuel stations in the state.

The motion was moved by Hon. Abdullahi Halidu Danbaba (Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe) and was seconded by Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salau (Omupo).
