Put Grievances Aside, Runsewe Appeals To Nigerians

Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, Director General of the National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC), has urged Nigerians to set aside their grievances over the election’s outcome and allow the government to focus on how to fix the country. Speaking yesterday in Abuja at the launch of the council’s “PuttingNigerianFirst” campaign, he questioned why Nigerians continue to use hate speeches, destructive criticisms, and unhealthy comments against the current administration.

He stated that in order for the abundant human and material resources to be fully utilised and productively channelled to drive the process of the nation’s development, all hands must be on deck.

Runsewe stated that it was time for citizens to prioritise Nigeria in order for it to become a better place, urging them to avoid any vice that promotes division, such as religious, ethnic, and political differences.

On the country’s current difficulties, he urged Nigerians to bear the pains for the time being and work with the government to build the nation that citizens have long wished for.

Runsewe also urged youths and children to avoid any negative lifestyle or vice that could lead to their demise and that of the country, instead putting Nigeria first by developing ideas and instilling positive attitudes that will make Nigeria great.

He urged Nigerians, particularly the political elite, religious leaders, traditional rulers, opinion shapers, and thought leaders, to join the new government in its determined efforts to reposition the country on the path of long-term peace and socioeconomic growth and development.
