Former Deputy Governor Sinatu Ojikutu says Nigerians are responsible for the untold hardships and suffering they are experiencing under President Bola Tinubu.

She beseeched Nigerians to seek God’s forgiveness, accusing them of incurring His anger.

“We should turn to God sincerely and ask for forgiveness. People should turn to God for mercy, and He will have mercy on Nigeria,” said Ms Ojikutu in a statement Thursday.

The former deputy governor asserted that the corruption, insecurity and economic hardship that plagued Nigerians today were man made and self-inflicted.

He attributed the scourges to God’s anger, impunity, corruption and wickedness.

According to her, all Nigerians, including the political leaders, should turn to God sincerely to experience a change of fortunes. She urged political leaders not to enact anti-people laws.

“Everybody must be prayerful because God is angry and giving us a chance to repent, but we are missing that chance every time. We are not doing things in the way of God,” Ms Ojikutu stressed

Meanwhile, in a related development, The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asserted that the suffering and economic hardship that Nigerians are going through are aimed at testing their fate and patriotism.

MURIC executive director Ishaq Akintola made the assertion in a statement on Friday.

MURIC stated that Nigerians’ best option now was to persevere and endure the hardships wrought by the previous regime of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and worsened by the policy of the incumbent, Bola Tinubu.

The Muslim Rights Concern, a dye-in-the-wool supporter of Mr Tinubu, said it would be irrational for the impoverished and hapless masses to flock the street in protest of Tinubu’s policy.
