  • The green chamber also appreciates the palliatives announced by President Bola Tinubu to alleviate adverse economic effects from the removal of fuel subsidy
  • The House commits to fulfilling its constitutional obligations by effectively monitoring all government entities responsible for deploying palliative measures

The House of Representatives expressed its approval of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s proposal to raise the national minimum wage in a national broadcast yesterday. The lawmakers promised to consider and approve the proposal once it is transmitted to the National Assembly by the presidency.

Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Publicity, Akin Rotimi, stated that the green chamber also welcomes the palliative measures announced by President Bola Tinubu, aimed at mitigating the adverse economic effects resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy.

In addition, the House emphasized the significance of interventions in the manufacturing sector, particularly the support for small and medium-scale enterprises, as well as other integrated initiatives to enhance economic productivity, boost agriculture production, create jobs, and improve overall living conditions.

Furthermore, the House pledged to diligently fulfill its constitutional obligations in overseeing all government entities responsible for implementing palliative measures.
