  • Chelsea signs £115 million deal for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, with medical completed, and announcement expected
  • Mauricio Pochettino aims to sign Olise following Nkunku’s injury; Manchester City and Chelsea interested; versatile player with potential

Chelsea and Crystal Palace star Michael Olise are nearing an agreement on personal terms. The Blues’ summer spending spree will continue this week, with the club agreeing a £115 million deal to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

According to Sky Germany, the Ecuadorian midfielder completed a medical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge this morning, with an announcement expected in the coming days. Romeo Lavia could follow Caicedo to Chelsea, but Liverpool is attempting to derail the deal after reaching an agreement with Southampton for a fee of £60 million.

The Belgian midfielder will decide on his next club, but reports suggest he still prefers a move to Chelsea. Following Christopher Nkunku’s knee injury earlier this month, Mauricio Pochettino is now looking to sign Olise.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with Olise and hope to secure a deal worth around £45 million for the 21-year-old. Manchester City are still interested in signing the Frenchman but are currently focused on signing West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Olise has impressed for Palace and could be on his way to one of the top Premier League clubs this summer. The 21-year-old can play on either wing and as a no.10, which would be a valuable asset for Pochettino throughout the 2023/24 season.

Olise scored just two goals last season but had 11 assists, and his contract expires in 2026. Following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move to Real Madrid, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants to add a new goalkeeper and striker to his squad before the transfer window closes.
