Manchester United say they have conducted investigation into the sexual scandal involving Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood has not played for the club since he was arrested in January 2022 for attempted rape, assault and coercive control.

But the player had his charges dropped in February this year and awaits the verdict from United over his return.

The club said it has carried out an extensive and thorough investigation into the allegations made against Greenwood following the dropping of all charges against him.

In a statement on Wednesday, the club said it has completed its investigation and will make a decision on Greenwood’s future soon.

This has drawn on extensive evidence and context not in the public domain, and we have heard from numerous people with direct involvement or knowledge of the case.
