  • NYSC spokesperson confirms Minister Musawa’s violation of NYSC Act by assuming position before completing one-year service
  • Musawa mobilized in 2001, relocated during service, allegedly absconded; NYSC to investigate and take necessary measures

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, has stated that the Minister of Arts and Culture, Mrs Hannatu Musawa, who is currently serving her one-year youth service, is occupying the ministerial position in violation of the NYSC Act.

Megwa confirmed to our reporter over the phone that the minister had served in the FCT for eight months.

He explained that it violated the NYSC Act for corps members to accept any government position until their one-year service was completed.

Mrs Musawa was mobilized in 2001 for the youth service to Ebonyi State, where she had her orientation programme. Still, she was later relocated to Kaduna State to continue the program, according to him.
