  • The Netherlands international has struggled to secure a regular role under Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel
  • Jordan Henderson and Fabinho both made the switch to Saudi Arabia, while James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita also left the Premier League giants

Ryan Gravenberch, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, prefers a transfer to Liverpool over Manchester United as Jurgen Klopp’s team begins negotiations with the Bundesliga champions.

Prior to Friday’s transfer deadline, Gravenberch is eager to leave Bayern Munich.

Under Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, the Netherlands international has had difficulty securing a regular position.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Bayern from Ajax last year for €18.5 million (£16m).

Both Liverpool and Man United have approached Gravenberch’s representatives this summer, but the two Premier League clubs are yet to submit an offer to Bayern Munich.

However, according to The Athletic, Liverpool have now opened negotiations with Bayern Munich over Gravenberch’s signature and are in talks over a transfer fee for the player.

The report added that Liverpool are working on a permanent deal, and Bayern Munich are open to selling Gravenberch, providing they can sign a replacement.
