Makinde Approves Selection Of RCCG Pastor Olaoye As New Soun Of Ogbomoso

• The Commissioner said the exalted position had placed the monarch-elect in the position to facilitate harmony, understanding, and tolerance amongst his people
• The monarch joined his ancestors on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the selection of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun-elect of Ogbomoso land.

Makinde made this announcement on Saturday.

The stool became vacant as a result of the transition of the immediate past Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi.

The monarch joined his ancestors on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

Makinde has, however, approved the selection of the Soun-elect.

Makinde made this announcement through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.

He appealed to the indigenes of the city to work with the monarch to consolidate the successes of his forefathers.

“His Excellency congratulates the new Soun-elect on his ascension to the throne of his forebears.
