  • Senator Samuel Anyanwu accuses Governor Hope Uzodimma of losing government control and attempting to gain support through threats
  • Anyanwu claims that Uzodimma’s disorganization and attempts to coerce loyalty are a response to widespread rejection in Imo State

Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party and the party’s governorship candidate in the November governorship election in Imo State, has stated that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has lost government control and cannot gain popular support through threats.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ikenna Onuoha, the director of media and publicity for the Sam-Jones Gubernatorial Campaign Council.

He claimed that Uzodinma was disorganized, and confused and had resorted to shadow chasing because the people of Imo had unanimously rejected him and his government.

He added that the governor cannot gain the people’s support by threatening them.

According to Ikenna, no community, local government area, or zone in Imo State takes the APC government seriously.

Since the rejection became intense, Uzodinma is threatening and forcing Imo people to be loyal to him by illegally arresting innocent people.

A few days ago, in a display of crude immorality, traditional rulers of Orlu zone extraction who are reportedly under trial were induced by Uzodinma to pour libation against any Orlu person that will vote against the APC administration in the state.

This is on the heels of mourning, agony and regrets of Orlu people whose children, brothers, sisters and relatives were murdered in cold blood with their buildings utterly razed by suspected government agents, he said.

FG reacts to NLC planned nationwide strike, discloses next step

The Federal Government has said it will take necessary steps to forestall the impending warning strike scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Within Nigeria had reported that NLC last Friday announced a two-day warning strike following the failure of the Federal Government to address the perennial hardship in the country, which is largely occasioned by the removal of subsidy on petrol, and also the treatment of its members by governors in some states of the federation.

Recall that organised labour, on the 2nd of August 2023, staged the “anti-people” protest policies of the administration of President Tinubu.
