  • Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf advised his appointees to act like leaders and trust everything in the hands of Allah
  • He emphasized the availability of the appeal and supreme courts to address the tribunal’s decision

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has urged his appointees to act like leaders and weather the storm.

Yusuf gave the advice during a meeting with his appointees on Wednesday, after the Kano State Election Petition Tribunal ruled that his victory as a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was invalid.

The All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Nasiru Yusuf-Gawuna was also declared the winner of the March 18 governorship election by the tribunal.

In response to the verdict, the governor asked his appointees to put everything in Allah’s hands, saying the government could appeal the tribunal’s decision.

He said;

If you are a commissioner, an advisor or an MD, what of your subordinates at the office? A leader must be a sort of shock absorber. Trust everything in the hand of Allah, the Almighty. He is sufficient for you. He doesn’t condone transgression.

We have to be courageous and push through the storm. We should also continue to enlighten the public that this is not the end. We have the appeal and the supreme courts.

The government has enough time to serve the people of Kano State. The temple is already here. We promised them this. To God is the glory that we have already started executing our programmes. Despite the judgment, the citizens across the 44 local governments are praying for our success. Alhamdulillah! May God see us through.

APC Supporters Celebrate Kano Tribunal Verdict

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have reacted to the Kano governorship election tribunal’s decision to dismiss Governor Abba Kabir.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the tribunal has declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the state’s duly elected governor.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Yusuf, who ran on the platform of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), the election winner.

While his APC opponent, Nasir Gawuna, congratulated him, the party went to court.
