Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, has vowed not to let Nigerians and President Bola Tinubu down in his determination to bring lasting peace to the country by bringing insecurity to a halt.
Musa also reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s ideals and principles, urging troops that it was a solemn duty to ensure that sacrifices were made by each and every member of the military.
On Sunday, he spoke at the 37 Regular Course’s 38th anniversary of gratitude and the installation of the immediate-past Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya (Rtd), as the Course’s Grand Patron.
Musa stated that the success of the nation’s military life had been the bedrock of the nation’s defense, not only in terms of operational progress but also in terms of the unwavering support and trust of its veterans.
He went on to say that the armed forces veterans’ dedication and service to the country, as well as their commitment to the ideals of duty, honor, and loyalty, had been a source of encouragement.
“I say this from the bottom of my heart.” We have made a promise to all of you that I will not let you down. We will do whatever it takes to ensure that we continue from where you have left off in order to achieve our desired goal of bringing lasting peace to our dear country Nigeria.”
“I remain steadfast in my commitment to upholding the ideals and principles that have guided our armed forces throughout history.” “It is my solemn duty to ensure that the sacrifices made by each and every member of the regular courses of the service are duly recognized,” he said.
In his remarks, the former Chief of Army Staff, Yahaya, thanked his course mates for the honor bestowed upon him, noting that the gesture of oneness and togetherness among the course 37 members had come a long way and urging that it be not only sustained but improved upon.
“This gesture of oneness and unity has come a long way.” We’re talking about four decades of friendship.
“As a result, we must persevere and seek better or additional ways to improve what we are doing.” As time passes, we must move with it in our minds and hearts, never losing sight of the essence.

Earlier, the event’s chairman, retired Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim, former Chief of Defence Staff, stated that the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) produced a high-quality number of armed forces for the country.
He also stated that the country had nurtured a group of young Nigerians as military personnel because they obtained degrees while at the NDA.
“As a result, today’s officers in the country forces are well educated.” “They are in touch with the needs of the community that they have sworn to serve,” he said.
In addition, retired Maj.-Gen. Victor Ezugwu, President, 37 Regular Course, stated that the occasion was to celebrate and thank the former COAS for his service and representation.
He noted that the course had produced the most two-star generals in the history of Nigeria’s armed forces, dating back to 1964.
