  • The governor ordered that the settlement harbouring the criminals and underaged girls for commercial sex activities must be demolished in 72 hours

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has issued a 12-hour eviction notice to illegal operations, including brothels, engaged in activities like drug trafficking and prostitution, in Bayan Quarters of Maiduguri, the state capital.

The governor delivered this directive following a visit to the settlement situated near the Railway Staff Quarters.

It is suspected that criminal elements reside and carry out illegal activities within this area.

Expressing concern over the heightened insecurity caused by these illegal establishments, Zulum emphasized the need to address the issue to enhance security within the state and combat social vices that detrimentally affect communities.
