  • REA and AMDA sign MoU to enhance mini-grid development in Nigeria, focusing on knowledge sharing, capacity building, and sector coordination
  • Collaboration aims to address Nigeria’s energy access gap, utilizing data-driven programs and industry standards to boost socio-economic growth

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the Africa Mini-Grid Developers’ Association (AMDA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of promoting and expediting the development of mini-grids in Nigeria.

According to Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, the MD/CEO of REA, the MoU will focus on various initiatives, including knowledge sharing, capacity building, and improved sector coordination.

Ahmad noted that Nigeria boasts one of the largest mini-grid markets in Africa, with more than 100 operational mini-grids, primarily as a result of data-driven programs and initiatives implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency.
