  • APC-USA expresses concern about a group using the name NADECO USA to discredit President Bola Tinubu
  • The statement defends President Tinubu’s reputation, addresses his educational qualifications, and clarifies the identity of the group involved

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United States of America (USA) has expressed concerns about a political opposition group using the name of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) USA to discredit President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued by the chairman of APC-USA, Prof. Tai Balofin, it was noted that the alleged impostor NADECO is planning a World Press Conference with the intent of spreading unfounded claims regarding the educational qualifications of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The statement emphasized the importance of relying on substantiated facts and differentiating between legitimate inquiries and baseless accusations. The matter surrounding President Tinubu’s educational certificate from Chicago State University (CSU) has reportedly been addressed, with CSU confirming the authenticity of the certificate. The statement also mentioned that this matter is already within the jurisdiction of appropriate authorities, particularly the courts, where due legal processes will be followed.

Prof. Tai Balofin defended President Tinubu’s reputation, highlighting his significant contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape. He deemed it unacceptable and counterproductive to attempt to tarnish his reputation for political gain and through cheap blackmail.

The statement clarified that the group organizing the World Press Conference under the banner of NADECO USA is not the original NADECO that President Tinubu was a part of during the Abacha era. The public was urged not to be misled by these attempts to distort history.

APC USA’s leadership firmly opposed any efforts to undermine President Tinubu’s reputation and, by extension, Nigeria. They stressed their belief in democratic processes and the judicial system’s ability to address legitimate concerns. The statement called for constructive dialogue and encouraged the legal system to handle any genuine concerns.

The statement also mentioned an upcoming public campaign in Chicago to address the situation in Nigeria and highlight President Bola Tinubu’s progressive leadership in the country. It urged supporters of other political candidates to await the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling.
