  • Engr. Udengs Eradiri vows to demystify money politics and focus on youth mentorship and Bayelsa’s development during his campaign
  • He highlights the state’s challenges, promises job opportunities for the youth, and advocates for agriculture and prosperity

Engr. Udengs Eradiri, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Bayelsa State, has expressed his determination to demystify money politics during the November 11 poll. He made this commitment while on a campaign tour in Nembe City, Opu Nembe, and Otakeme communities, which are situated in Nembe and Ogbia local government areas.

Eradiri, who was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, emphasized his aspiration to become a people-oriented leader who would provide mentorship for young people and revitalize the state.

Expressing his concerns about the challenges faced by the Nembe area, he sympathized with the local population and promised to focus on the region’s development while putting an end to politically-induced unrest.

Eradiri underscored the urgent need for change, as he believed that Bayelsa was suffering from poor leadership and a lack of direction. He remarked, “We are the second-poorest state, with the highest school dropouts in the entire country, which is very sad.”

The LP candidate emphasized his commitment to developing all communities in Bayelsa, advocating that basic amenities, such as roads and infrastructure, should be the rights of the people rather than a cause for self-congratulation by leaders.

Eradiri urged the citizens to make a choice for change, as he believed that he had a strong message and a comprehensive solution to the problems faced by the people of Bayelsa.

In Otakeme community, Eradiri promised to create job opportunities for the youth and address the issue of Bayelsa-owned establishments that had ceased to operate. He expressed his intention to engage cult groups in productive activities, specifically in agriculture, to redirect their focus towards economic development.

He highlighted the need for government support to facilitate prosperity and prevent underdevelopment. Eradiri also pointed out the potential for agricultural growth in the state and indicated a preference for investing in Otuokpoti rice farm, an area with a history of rice cultivation.

In conclusion, the LP candidate emphasized his commitment to ending money politics, promoting development, and addressing the key challenges facing Bayelsa, especially those related to youth employment and agricultural revitalization.
