The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure, has authorized the dismissal of some of his aides following the party’s loss in the Supreme Court.

A termination letter, signed by the National Secretary of the party, Malam Umar Farouk, conveyed the decision to dissolve all appointments related to elections and campaigns formally.

The affected appointees include Mr. Mandela Ukegbu, who served as the Chairman of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Committee on Special Duties; Engineer Balami Isaac David, Senior Special Assistant on Presidential Campaign, Fund Raising, and Grassroot Mobilization; Didacus Joe-Adigwe, Senior Special Adviser on Strategy, Protocol, and International Relations; Princess Ajibola, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Mobilization; and Isaac Imasuagbon, Senior Special Assistant on ICT.

The statement also extended good wishes to the affected individuals in their future endeavors.

The Labour Party had contested the declaration of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February election and pursued legal action. However, the courts upheld President Tinubu’s victory, resulting in a double loss for the opposition party.

Bayelsa LP Candidate Vows to End Money Politics and Foster Development

Engr. Udengs Eradiri, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Bayelsa State, has expressed his determination to demystify money politics during the November 11 poll. He made this commitment while on a campaign tour in Nembe City, Opu Nembe, and Otakeme communities, which are situated in Nembe and Ogbia local government areas.

Eradiri, who was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, emphasized his aspiration to become a people-oriented leader who would provide mentorship for young people and revitalize the state.

Expressing his concerns about the challenges faced by the Nembe area, he sympathized with the local population and promised to focus on the region’s development while putting an end to politically-induced unrest.
