JUST-IN: Tinubu Writes Reps, Sends 2023 Supplementary Budget, MEET/FSP For Consideration

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the 2023 supplementary budget of N2.1 trillion at its meeting on Monday.

  • The Federal Government has also agreed to pay N35,000 each to about 1.5 million employees of the Federal Government for September , October, November and December.
  • The Minister announced N100 billion in infrastructure support for the Federal Capital Territory and N800 billion for the Independent National Electoral Commission for off-season government elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states.

President Bola Tinubu wrote to the House of Representatives on Tuesday, October 31, asking approval for a supplementary appropriation bill in the amount of N2,176,791,286,033.

The speaker, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, stated in a letter read in plenary that the additional budget is intended to address labour pay modifications, security, and other issues.

In addition to the supplemental budget, the president handed the House of Representatives the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework & Fiscal Strategy Paper for discussion.

WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the 2023 supplementary budget of N2.1 trillion was considered and approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at its meeting on Monday.
