  • He emphasized that the Central Bank’s actions have the potential to address the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians, provided the right monetary policies are put in place

Lamido Sanusi, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has urged the current governor, Olayemi Cardoso, to enact monetary policies aimed at mitigating inflation and alleviating the hardships experienced by Nigerians.

Sanusi made this recommendation in a statement issued on Sunday after he led the Impact Investing Community team to the CBN Headquarters. He emphasized that the Central Bank’s actions have the potential to address the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians, provided the right monetary policies are put in place.

He urged the leadership of CBN to do everything to reduce the economic hardship in the country.

“The Bank’s activities have a massive impact on the lives of Nigerians, and many people often do not know the impact of a Central Bank’s work until a Central Bank fails. I urged the new leadership at the CBN to work persistently at driving down the rate, which had severely impacted the wealth of individuals,” Sanusi stated.
