Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, the Minister of State for Environment and Ecological Management, has advised Nigerian youths to serve the country diligently and passionately before making demands from it. Speaking at the 2023 Ayetoro-Yewa Day in his hometown of Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Salako emphasized the importance of service to the nation.

Salako, who was honoured at the event as the first minister from the Yewa region since 1999, highlighted the reciprocal relationship between service and reward. He likened the commitment to serving the country to a farmer tilling the land before expecting a harvest, stating that if one serves the land, the land will, in turn, serve them.

The minister urged Nigerian youths to believe in serving their land first, emphasizing service to Nigeria, Ogun State, Ogun West, and their local communities. He encouraged them to shun actions that undermine the unity and peace of the country.

Salako assured that Ogun State, along with other parts of the country, would receive priority attention from the federal government and the Ministry of Environment. The event also included the launch of a ₦500 million endowment fund for the development of Ayetoro town.
