One of the five flyover bridges that the Lagos state government was given control of in order to build the Red Line route, which will share tracks with the Nigeria Railway Corporation, is the Ikeja Overhead Bridge.

Governor Sanwo-Olu claims that the 620-meter-long, T-shaped bridge will greatly lessen traffic congestion on the Obafemi Awolowo Way, the Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway, and the Old Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway.

Among other things, Sanwo-Olu mentioned in his speech that the flyover bridge will contribute to the state’s transformation and save travel time.

He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating on private projects to give Lagosians access to a secure, seamless, and safe transport system.

Sanwo-Olu pleaded with drivers and passengers not to convert the bridge into a bus stop. Sanwo-Olu pleaded with drivers and passengers not to convert the bridge into a bus stop.

In his remarks, Governor AbdulRasak praised the Lagos State government’s efforts and mentioned that the road project is centred on national development.

Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the commissioner of transportation, advised drivers and commuters to abide by traffic laws and regulations in his own remarks.

Osiyemi issued a warning, stating that it is still against the law to sell or hawk goods on the bridge.
