  • The embattled governor comment is coming amid the protracted feud with the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

The Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, says he’s not averse to peace and he’s ready to extend an olive branch to his detractors and political foes.

The embattled governor comment is coming amid the protracted feud with the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Recall that the governor and other stakeholders signed a peace accord with an eight-point resolution in Abuja on Monday in a bid to resolve the political impasse in the state.

The agreement was reached after President Bola Tinubu met with Wike, Fubara and other stakeholders at the State House.

He spoke on Tuesday at the 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences in Iriebe Town.

The governor expressed his commitment to ensuring peace in the state and among the people to foster development.

He said: “There is no price that will be too big to pay to ensure that peace prevails.”

Governor Fubara also assured the people of the state that his administration would ensure access to quality education and healthcare in the state

He said: “While some progress has been made, it is obvious that a lot still needs to be done to achieve our collective aspirations for universal access to quality education and healthcare for our people.

“I need not say that no society can progress without educated and healthy people.”
