Zubaida Sanusi, an 18-year-old student at the Niger State College of Health Sciences in Kontagora, Niger State, is currently held in police custody over allegations of working as an informant for bandits.

Commissioner of Police Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman disclosed her arrest, which followed the apprehension of Umar Aliyu, a 37-year-old notorious bandit known as Babuga Datijo.

During investigations, a wanted bandit named Shaibu Haruna was discovered in the student’s phone contacts, saved under the name ‘Kudin-banza’ (useless money).

Efforts to apprehend other members of Aliyu’s gang led the police to a phone number linked to the suspected student in Kontagora. Additionally, two individuals, Motse Mohammed (47) and Aliya Mohammed (48) from Salka, Magama LGA, were arrested for aiding the bandits by acting as informants during various attacks.

The police investigation revealed that the bandits transferred ten thousand naira to the informants through a POS system in Salka.
