President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has voiced deep concern over the escalating figures of out-of-school children in the nation. Addressing the issue, he emphasized the urgent need to tackle this challenge by establishing additional schools, recruiting more teachers, and ensuring at least one daily meal for schoolchildren. President Tinubu made these remarks during a meeting with members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.

Insisting on the importance of a progressive and inclusive democracy, President Tinubu underscored the necessity to pragmatically address poverty. He highlighted the significance of creating job opportunities for youths and ensuring quality education for all Nigerian children.

Expressing support for the establishment of the National Institute of Progressive Studies by the party, the President stressed that the institute would play a crucial role in conducting diligent research and educating party members on the principles of democracy and good governance. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of providing a distinct identity for the party through such initiatives.

President Tinubu called on the party’s leadership to focus on engaging more youths and women in its ongoing e-registration and digital membership validation exercise, slated for completion in the first quarter of 2024.
