  • PDP governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, calls on APC to stop intimidating the opposition, asserting unity, emphasizing ties with Tinubu
  • Adebutu expresses hope for Supreme Court victory, stating ambition transcends party lines, PDP advocates for a united Nigeria

Ladi Adebutu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 election in Ogun State, has called on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to cease intimidating the opposition, emphasizing that they are all aligned with President Bola Tinubu.

Adebutu, who is contesting Governor Dapo Abiodun’s declaration as the winner of the election, expressed his hope for victory at the Supreme Court. He stressed that his ambition transcends party lines, emphasizing unity and oneness in Nigeria.

During the PDP’s year-end party in Abeokuta, Adebutu urged the APC to refrain from intimidation, asserting, “we are all Tinubu’s men.” He emphasized that the PDP advocates for a united Nigeria and Ogun State.

Adebutu stated, “This is not about one party. We have seen the governorship candidate of the LP here, Mr. Shogunle. Even some members of the APC joined forces with us during the last election, and that is why we have told them to stop intimidating us; we are all Tinubu’s men.”

While acknowledging the ongoing legal process, Adebutu conveyed confidence in a favourable outcome at the Supreme Court. The Secretary of the party, Sunday Solarin, echoed this sentiment, asserting that the PDP, as a significant party, cannot be intimidated by the APC.

Solarin expressed optimism about victory, stating, “The party actually won the election, and that is why we are still in court. We believe quite well that the Supreme Court will set the records straight because it is a court of policy.” He anticipated a favourable outcome despite perceived policy errors in earlier judgments.
