  • Measures have been undertaken to tackle the issue of faulty boreholes within the barracks

The Nigerian Army has refuted media reports claiming that families of soldiers at Headquarters 14 Brigade faced difficulties cooking on New Year’s Day due to water scarcity in the barracks.

Lieutenant Omale Innocent Prince, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, stated in a release that the water reticulation challenge at the barracks has persisted despite previous attempts to resolve it.

However, he highlighted that since the current Brigade Commander assumed office, proactive measures have been undertaken to tackle the issue of faulty boreholes within the barracks.

Under the current leadership’s diligent efforts, repairs were carried out on malfunctioning boreholes, ensuring a relatively stable water supply to the barracks.

“Further efforts are currently underway to improve the availability of water and other social amenities within the barracks as the Brigade is working diligently to ensure that the living conditions at 14 Brigade Ohafia are convenient and comfortable for both soldiers and their family members.” It said

According to the statement, ”the Brigade recognizes the importance of addressing these challenges promptly and remains dedicated to the welfare of its personnel and their families, adding that the current leadership would continue to prioritize the improvement of living conditions within the barracks.

“We appreciate the understanding and support of all as we work towards enhancing the living standards at 14 Brigade Ohafia.” It said.
