Top agencies get new directors as Tinubu makes fresh appointments

  • The fresh appointments were confirmed in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President

President Bola Tinubu has appointed new executive directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The fresh appointments for the agencies, which are under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, were confirmed in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President.

For the Nigerian Ports Authority, Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet was appointed Executive Director, Finance and Administration, while Engr. Olalekan Badmus is the Executive Director of Marine and Operations. Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar would serve as Executive Director of Engineering and Technical Services.

For the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Mr. Jibril Abba is appointed Executive Director of Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services; Mr. Chudi Offodile is Executive Director of Finance and Administration; and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi is the Executive Director of Operations.

According to the Thursday statement, President Tinubu approved the appointments with the firm belief, after studying their impressive profiles, that the new appointees will expeditiously and efficiently execute their collective mandate to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the Marine and Blue Economy Sector to the nation’s GDP.
