The Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed at the Aéroport International Felix Houphouet Boigny d’Abidjan in Cote D’Ivoire in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations commencing on Saturday, January 13, 2023. Ahmed Musa, the team’s captain, led the arrival.

The national team departed for Cote D’Ivoire on Wednesday morning following a dinner hosted by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the State House, Marina, Lagos, the previous Tuesday.

The tournament includes five teams from the recently concluded tournament in Qatar, with Morocco, the semifinalists at the global showpiece, emerging as the strong favorites to clinch the African championship.

The Morocco national football team, known as the Atlas Lions, notably became the first team, aside from the host nation, to touch down in Cote d’Ivoire for the tournament on Saturday.

Other national teams that have arrived include Egypt, Mozambique, Senegal, and Guinea-Bissau, among others.

The matches will take place across six stadiums spread across five cities. Abidjan, the capital, features two venues—the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium and the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, which will host the final. Additional fixtures will be held in Yamoussoukro, Bouake, Korhogo, and San Pedro.
