  • JAMB notifies Direct Entry candidates for 2023 admissions that the Board won’t process admissions without certificate verification from institutions
  • Candidates urged to promptly contact former institutions for verification, and non-responsive institutions may not be considered for admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has communicated to candidates applying for Direct Entry (DE) admission for the 2023 academic session that the Board will not process any admission without certificate verification. In a statement posted on its official page, JAMB urged A-Level candidates to promptly contact their former institutions for certificate verification.

JAMB emphasized the importance of this verification process and urged candidates to ensure timely communication with their former institutions. The Board clarified that it had reached out to all tertiary institutions issuing certificates, and while many responded positively, others were yet to comply.

The statement reads, “This is to notify all A-Level candidates who applied for 2023 admissions through Direct Entry (DE) to contact their former institutions for prompt verification of their certificates.

“In order to expedite the verification process, the Board wrote to all tertiary institutions that issued the certificates, and a significant number of them responded positively, while others were lax.

“Please be advised that the Board will not process any DE admission without certificate verification, and that the admission process for the academic year will be completed soon.

“As such, the Board would not consider all affected students of non-responsive institutions for admissions for the academic year.”

JAMB also provided candidates with a link to a list of non-responsive institutions for their reference.
