  • Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Kano State request President Tinubu to appoint Halimat Tejuosho as the replacement for the suspended minister
  • The PWDs commend Tinubu’s decisive actions, expressing confidence in Tejuosho’s qualifications and dedication for the ministerial role

In response to alleged corruption allegations against Dr. Betta Edu, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Kano State are urging President Bola Tinubu to appoint Halimat Adenike Tejuosho as the replacement.

The PWDs, including the deaf, physically challenged, albinos, and others, led by Adnan Ali Daneji, former Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on People With Disability, expressed their preference for Halimat Tejuosho, deeming her the most qualified candidate for the position. They conveyed this request while addressing journalists in Kano on Sunday.

Commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking decisive action in addressing governance issues without compromise, the PWDs highlighted the president’s commitment to bringing sanity to the Nigerian polity. They specifically acknowledged Tinubu’s recent suspension of Dr. Betta Edu from her ministerial role, citing the misappropriation of funds intended for individuals with disabilities who are facing challenges in surviving during the current period.

Expressing gratitude for Tinubu’s unwavering resolve, the group emphasized the importance of the president’s actions in promoting the Renewed Hope agenda. They concluded by appealing to President Tinubu to consider Halimat Adenike Tejuosho as the replacement for the suspended minister, believing that her qualifications and dedication make her the most suitable candidate for the role.
