The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announced the repatriation of 137 distressed Nigerians from Mali on Tuesday.
In a brief statement on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, NEMA reported that the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) facilitated the return of these Nigerians.
The returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos aboard Sky Mali Air with flight number UR-CQX.
The aircraft landed at about 1400 hours on Tuesday.
NEMA said the returnees comprised 28 adult females, 78 adult males, 12 female children, 18 male children and 1 female infant, making a total of 137 returnees brought in the IOM Voluntary Repatriation programme for stranded Nigerians.
Upon their return, they were received by the officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service, police, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and NEMA.
