Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy and Coordination, asserted that non-performing ministers will face dismissal as part of the President’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.

Speaking at the technical retreat for delivery desk officers of federal ministries in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Usman emphasized Tinubu’s dedication to delivering on promises. She urged attendees, including delivery officers and planning directors, to exhibit unwavering dedication to their responsibilities.

Usman conveyed the President’s intent: “We must understand that the president is very serious about his promises and that ministers will be assessed, and ministers will be dropped if they don’t perform.”

She addressed the delivery officers directly and emphasized their pivotal role as the “engine room” responsible for providing feedback, monitoring ministerial progress, and reporting challenges to the Central Coordinating and Delivery Unit (CDCU).

In agriculture, tangible indicators, such as the increase in fertilizer use per hectare, will be monitored to gauge the impact of invested interventions.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, represented by former Permanent Secretary Sir Olusegun Adekunle, reminded participants of Tinubu’s overarching plan to involve citizens actively in governance.
