  • Super Eagles midfielder Alhassan Yusuf and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong have returned to training ahead of the crucial clash against Cameroon
  • The return of these key players boosts confidence in the Nigerian squad as they prepare for the Round of 16 match

Ahead of their crucial clash against Cameroon this Saturday, Super Eagles midfielder Alhassan Yusuf and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong have returned to training.

Yusuf, who faced an injury setback during the opening match against Equatorial Guinea, missed subsequent games, including victories over hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau. In his absence, Frank Onyeka, Joe Aribo, and Alex Iwobi admirably anchored the midfield, securing two wins for the 2013 AFCON champions.

Troost-Ekong, the PAOK defender, played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s triumph against Côte d’Ivoire, scoring from the penalty spot. However, he had to train separately before the Guinea-Bissau clash due to an injury.

Recent images from their training sessions present a positive development as Yusuf and Troost-Ekong are back with the team, providing a much-needed boost for the Super Eagles.
