Liverpool’s star player, Mohamed Salah, is determined to swiftly return from his hamstring injury to join Egypt for the knockout stage of the AFCON tournament. Salah was forced to leave the pitch during Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana, raising concerns about the length of his absence from the game.

The 31-year-old forward has returned to England for treatment, prompting former Pharaohs captain Ahmed Hassan to express disappointment in Salah’s absence from the team. However, Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, praised Salah as the “most loyal Egyptian he’d ever met.”

In response to the support, Salah conveyed an optimistic message to fans via Twitter. He stated, “I’ve initiated the treatment and rehabilitation program. I will do everything possible to be ready as soon as possible and rejoin the national team, as agreed upon from the beginning. I also love Egypt and its people.”

Adding a resilient touch, Salah appeared to address his critics, urging them to “try harder.”

Salah’s absence could impact Egypt’s chances in the AFCON until February 11. Liverpool supporters hope their star player will not be sidelined for an extended period, especially as the club competes on multiple fronts this season.

After finishing second in their group with three consecutive draws, Egypt faces DR Congo in the Round of 16 on Sunday. The victor will go on to face either Equatorial Guinea or Guinea in the quarter-finals on February 2.

Salah’s remarkable form for Liverpool this season, with 18 goals and nine assists in 27 matches, highlights his crucial role for both club and country. Fans eagerly await his return as Egypt aims for success in the AFCON tournament.
