The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service has admonish Nigerian socialite and businesswoman, Aisha Achimugu, not to forget to file her annual tax returns.

The admonition follows the outcry that greeted the businesswoman’s extravagant 50th birthday celebration.

The FCT-IRS gave the reminder in a now-deleted post on X (formerly X) while responding to a post on the seven-day party, which Achimugu hosted in Grenada, a Caribbean Island country.

“The FCT-Internal Revenue Service extends our warmest birthday wishes to you! May this special day be filled with joy and blessing. Remember to fulfill your tax obligations by filing your annual tax returns,” the post read.

The party was reportedly attended by many socialites, including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who later explained on his official X handle @jidesanwoolu, that he was in the country to meet with Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, but had also attended “some social events.”

“Last weekend in St. George’s, Grenada, I presented Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell with a miniature of the Blue Line Rail, and we engaged in extensive discussions on various aspects of our bilateral relations, focusing mainly on tourism, agriculture, and other economic interests that could benefit both our regions.

“Prime Minister Mitchell also shared exciting plans for Grenada’s upcoming 50th-anniversary celebrations in February. It was a productive and enriching exchange, setting the stage for deeper collaboration between our regions.

“Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend some social events, further strengthening the ties between our two nations,” he wrote.
Achimugu’s 50th birthday celebration was held on Calivigny Island, a private island located off the coast of Grenada in the Caribbean.

The luxurious island purportedly cost nearly $1 million (over a billion naira) to rent for the entire week.

Achimugu is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Felak Concept Group, a consortium of companies with expertise in civil, transportation and structural engineering, as well as Consultancy and transaction advisory services, and Maritime and Environmental Waste Management.

She is also the Founder and President of Sam Empowerment Foundation and was married to Sulaiman Achimugu, a former Managing Director of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company Limited, who passed on in 2020 from COVID-19 complications
