In the Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, at Tambuwal Motor Park, a spare parts salesman has been kidnapped.
The event reportedly happened on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m.
The town of Tambuwal is home to Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the state’s most recent governor.
A source claims that the gunmen fired intermittent shots into the air, forcing the community’s occupants to flee for their lives.
He explained, “The bandits injured one other person who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.”
He further explained that the gunmen’s mission was to kidnap the father of the trader who was not around at the time of their attack.
He stated that the kidnappers went away with the man’s son.
ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, the Public Relations Officer, Sokoto State Police Command, while confirming the attack, explained that the police were on the trail of the gunmen.
The police spokesman stated that Tambuwal is a transit town between Sokoto and Kebbi State, saying that they have informed police in the neighbouring communities in Kebbi as the search continues.
