A 45-year-old woman, Alimot Haruna, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly smuggling 42 northern children into Lagos without parental consent.

She is accused of intending to force them into child labour and trafficking.

The incident took place on January 25 around 5:45 pm. Detectives rescued three underage children, two females, and one male, while monitoring her movements.

The Kwara State Police Command had declared her wanted due to connections with missing underage children, and the anti-human trafficking unit confirmed the recovery of some children, with 11 still missing.
