A Lagos chief, Abisoye Oshodi, popularly known as Balogun Eko, has chided President Bola Tinubu over the troubling state of the nation.

Oshodi, who lamented the economic hardship and security challenges that plagued the nation, said the respected tribe of the president had fallen into disrepute because of the parlous and precarious state of the nation.

Oshodi known for his contentious socio-economic and political commentary on Instagram, said on Friday that Tinubu’s administration continued to cast the Yoruba in bad light.

He stated, “This presidency is becoming an embarrassment for the Yoruba people,”

Oshodi said that Nigerians were groaning in widespread hunger, adding that Tinubu was surrounded by sycophants and praise singers who were after money and fawned on the president instead of telling him the truth about the country.

He described the President’s close aides as “ball boys” whom he said their ambitions and desire for wealth wouldn’t allow them to tell the President “the truth.”

‘‘The people you have surrounded yourself with don’t seem to me to have brains,” he said.

He added, “Your Excellency, if you listen to the groaning of Nigerians there is widespread hunger. The ball boys in Abuja will not be able to tell you the truth.”

Oshodi also said days were counting, saying it was necessary for Mr Tinubu’s government to produce results to the pride of the Yoruba.

“As you said, it was Yoruba’s turn, don’t use your tenure to disgrace us,” Mr Oshodi said in the Instagram video.

The chief’s outburst is the latest against the President over the plethora of challenges that plague the nation.

Fuji singer Wasiu Ayinde recently bemoaned the hardship and the deepening security crisis in the country, he urged the President to ramp up efforts in address poverty, unemployment, economic crisis and naira depreciation.
