Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has pledged to pursue legal action against individuals who collaborated with former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barr. Hudu Ari, during the 2023 gubernatorial election.

Addressing a gathering at the Government House Conference Hall, Governor Fintiri commended INEC for maintaining impartiality despite what he termed as the REC’s “irresponsible and unlawful” behaviour.

Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of legal recourse to safeguard the electoral process and uphold democratic principles, expressing appreciation for the fair judgments delivered by the judiciary.

He lauded the legal team’s efforts, led by D.M Dogo (SAN) and M.A Mahmood (SAN), and underscored their pivotal role in the proceedings.

Furthermore, Governor Fintiri called upon all residents of Adamawa to reconcile their differences and collaborate towards fostering a stronger community.

Acknowledging the detrimental impact of misinformation and division, he urged unity and collective effort in addressing societal challenges.

“The road ahead is challenging, requiring solidarity, pooling of resources, and harnessing individual talents to build a more prosperous society,” Governor Fintiri remarked.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the integrity of the electoral system. He emphasized his advocacy for unity and progress as integral to advancing the welfare of the people of Adamawa State.
