  • PRP criticizes APC for baseless accusations amid nationwide protests, urging focus on addressing genuine concerns and fulfilling promises
  • PRP emphasizes citizens’ right to peaceful protest, dismisses APC’s claims, and calls for dialogue to address root causes of grievances

Amid nationwide protests highlighting the hardships many face, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has taken aim at the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what it perceives as unfounded accusations and attempts to sow fear regarding opposition groups.

According to PRP, the APC’s assertions are a diversionary tactic aimed at deflecting attention from the genuine concerns of Nigerians, a sentiment expressed with deep disappointment.

In a statement released by the acting National Publicity Secretary of PRP, Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, the party lamented the characterization of protests in Minna, Niger State, and Kano as politically motivated. Instead, PRP emphasizes that these demonstrations represent grassroots expressions of frustration and discontent with current affairs.

“The people of Nigeria have every right to protest and demand accountability from their government peacefully,” the statement affirmed.

PRP challenges the APC’s narrative, asserting that dismissing these protests as mere opposition ploys overlooks the underlying discontent among the populace.

Ishaq emphasized the need for the APC to move beyond the blame game and focus on fulfilling its promises to the Nigerian people.

“The citizens of this nation deserve more than empty rhetoric and unfounded accusations. Let us unite as a nation to build a brighter and more prosperous future for all,” he urged.

Furthermore, PRP called upon the federal government to heed the grievances expressed by the people and actively address the root causes of their discontent.

“It is through sincere dialogue and meaningful engagement that lasting solutions to the challenges facing our country can be achieved,” the statement concluded.
