Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, has successfully secured a sum of Two hundred million naira (N200m) in support of the Super Eagles competing in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023.

Senator Enoh expressed appreciation for the swift response and enthusiasm of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and all members. The funds were promptly mobilised following discussions with the Forum Chairman regarding the need to motivate the team ahead of their semi-final match against South Africa.

Furthermore, Senator Enoh confirmed that the Progressive Governors’ Forum has already disbursed the entire sum to the players.

In a statement, Senator Enoh thanked the Progressive Governors’ Forum, particularly Governor Hope Uzodimma, for their proactive efforts in providing financial support to the Super Eagles. He emphasized the team’s dedication and resilience throughout the tournament, highlighting their potential to clinch victory and bring home the prestigious Cup of Nations.

Senator Enoh urged continued support for the Super Eagles, recognizing their immense responsibility in representing Nigeria on the continental stage. He called upon Nigerians to rally behind the team and show solidarity as they strive to make the nation proud.
