President Bola Tinubu is committed to ensuring every Nigerian has access to affordable housing, stating this during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Renewed Hope City project in Karsana, Abuja.

The project, which will see the construction of 3,112 housing units, is part of a larger initiative aimed at delivering 20,000 homes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This initiative is being executed through a Public Private Partnership arrangement led by the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

In his address, President Tinubu outlined his vision of creating vibrant, integrated communities that offer quality living standards for Nigerians across the nation. These communities will boast well-connected infrastructure, uninterrupted power supply, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions, fostering a sense of togetherness and enhancing residents’ health and productivity.

Emphasizing the importance of accessibility and livability, President Tinubu directed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and the Minister of Works to prioritize the provision of access roads to all Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Projects, starting with the Karsana site.

President Tinubu underscored the moral obligation to provide affordable and adequate housing for all Nigerians, recognizing housing as a crucial driver of inclusive economic growth. He expressed determination in addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit with the necessary boldness and urgency.

Commending the efforts of the Ministry, President Tinubu highlighted the development of Renewed Hope Cities in Kano, Lagos, and Abuja, along with plans for a National Urban and Slum Upgrading Programme covering 26 sites nationwide.
