  • Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka launches an education intervention plan to improve the standard of education in Yewa North/Imeko-Afon federal seat
  • The plan focuses on deploying more teachers, enhancing infrastructure, funding students, boosting vocational training, and organizing youth mentoring programs

To raise the standard of education in his area, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, a member of Ogun State’s Yewa North/Imeko-Afon federal seat, launched an education intervention plan.

The legislator stated that “ensuring the enhancement of quality education in our constituency is our responsibility, as it is a fundamental right.”

Isiaka, also referred to as GNI, stated that the programme is a crucial part of the 15-year development plan that was previously implemented for the Federal Constituency.

The three-time governorship candidate revealed the intervention plan following extensive consultations with important players in the State’s education sector, including Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, according to a statement released by his media assistant, Femi Peters.

He said the education plan focuses on five key areas – deploying additional teachers to schools, enhancing infrastructure, funding and supporting students, boosting technical/vocational training, and organizing youth mentoring programs.

Isiaka noted that part of the plan is to deploy at least 40 additional English and Mathematics teachers across the constituency’s secondary schools, starting from April.

“More teachers and subjects will be added from the next academic session. Accommodation and other support will also be arranged for newly posted teachers.

“Our students deserve the greatest support to achieve their ambitions. I am fully committed to steering progress on education in Yewa North and Imeko-Afon,” he said.

The Chairman House Committee on Polytechnic and Higher Technical Education also identified the need to tackle lack of ICT infrastructure in schools.

Isiaka added that scholarships, financial aid and sponsorship support will be given to deserving students while noting that distribution of free JAMB forms to students has already begun.

“Over and above, the implementation of these programs exemplifies our commitment to a wholesome and development-focused representation of the federal constituency.

“Our students deserve society’s greatest support to help them achieve their goals and GNI is fully committed to contributing this,” he said.
