Plateau: Gunmen storm Bokkos, kill man, abduct wife

Gunmen terrorising Nigeria’s middle belt region have struck again in Plateau state.

The rampaging gunmen attacked Bokkos Local Government Area of the State on Friday and killed one Sule Gwamnati.

The deceased’s wife, Blessing, was also abducted and taken to an unknown destination when the assailant attacked their family house in Mai Katato community, a source said.

The source disclosed that Gwamnati was immediately rushed to a hospital in Jos and he died a few hours after arrival.

Kefas Mallai, the Chairman of Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, confirmed the attack on Gwamnati’s residence on Friday.

He explained that, “in the early hours of Friday, one Sule Gwamnati (native) was shot twice by some criminals who kidnapped his wife, Blessing Sule. The victim later died at JUTH after treatment started.”

According to the chairman, the incident was reported to security agents in Bokkos who assured them that an investigation into the incident was ongoing.

The spokesman for the Police, Alabo Alfred said the Command was aware of the incident
