JUST-IN: Plateau APC Publicity Secretary Gunned Down

• Bature said the party is preparing an official statement on the incident.

Sylvanus Namang, the All Progressives Congress (APC) publicity secretary in Plateau State has been shot and dead.

In Pankshin Town, Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State, Mr. Namang was slain on Saturday.

Rufus Bature, the APC chairman in Plateau, told a source about the murder.

He characterized the deceased as a trustworthy ally who had a strong desire to see the APC grow at the local and state levels.

Bature said that a formal statement regarding the incident is being prepared by the party.

It was gathered that Mr Namang was gunned down outside his hotel room at about 7:30 p.m on Saturday.

The police have yet to speak on the murder and the motive is not yet known.

Plateau, like many other states in Nigeria, has witnessed different attacks by armed persons in recent weeks.

The attacks by diverse armed groups have persisted despite the efforts of security agencies.
