  • Manchester United continued to throw bodies forward in search of a winning goal and they were well on course to snatch victory but fate had other plans

Nigerian duo, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, were on the scoresheet on Saturday as a struggling Fulham side throw a wrench in the top four aspiration of a reinvigorated Manchester United side.

The West London team defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford in a pulsating Saturday afternoon EPL clash.

There were no goals in the first half of the game, but Bassey opened scoring from a corner kick after the break.

Bassey found himself free in the box and lashed the ball past Andre Onana after his initial effort ricochet off his team mate and fell back calmly to him.

Samuel Okwaraji’s last breath on the Pitch — A reminder that time is never ours to keep

Harry Maguire restored parity for the host after Bernd Leno parried Bruno’s shot to the path of the defender who found himself unmarked in the six year area and tapped the ball in from close range.

Manchester United continued to throw bodies forward in search of a winning goal and they were well on course to snatch victory but fate had other plans as it was the visitors who had the final laugh.

Iwobi scored the winner for Fulham in the dying minutes of added time after receiving a beautifully weighted pass from Adama Traore whose pace and power saw him skip past two united players.

He passed the ball to Iwobi on the edge of box whose feint took two united players out of the way, set himself up nicely and went for the near post which gave Onana absolutely no chance.

Before today’s defeat, Manchester United have been in form, winning six of their last seven matches.
