  • Francis Ngannou apologized to his fans after his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on Friday night
  • Despite his previous success against Tyson Fury, Ngannou struggled against Joshua, ultimately losing in the second round

Francis Ngannou has apologised to his fans following his defeat to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

The Cameroonian fighter suffered a knockout loss against the former world heavyweight champion in the second round of their bout.

Despite his impressive boxing debut against Tyson Fury last year, the mixed martial artist fell short against his more experienced opponent from Nigeria and Britain.

Following Joshua’s knockdown in the first round, Ngannou struggled to regain his footing. In the second round, he succumbed to a powerful right hand from Joshua, prompting the referee to stop the fight.

After being knocked out, the Cameroonian-born boxer required medical attention and received oxygen at the corner of the ring before rising to his feet.

Ngannou took to his X account to express his remorse, stating, “Apologies to everyone; I feel I let you down. Today was a bad day in the office but tomorrow will be another day. Thank you all for the love.”
