  • Allen Onyema emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s appointees, not Tinubu himself, are causing setbacks in Nigeria
  • Onyema highlighted the importance of competent personnel in governance and urged Tinubu to assess his appointees for effective progress

Allen Onyema, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, expressed that President Bola Tinubu is not the primary issue facing Nigeria, but rather, his appointees are causing setbacks.

In an exclusive interview with Vanguard, Onyema emphasized Tinubu’s good intentions for the country, highlighting that the actions of government officials working under him undermine progress.

Despite Air Peace’s significant support to Nigerians and the economy, Onyema lamented the airline’s challenges.

He pointed out that Tinubu has the potential to overcome the nation’s difficulties, drawing parallels with his own experience as Lagos governor.

“It is not President Tinubu who poses a challenge; he has good intentions, but he needs to assess his appointees,” stated Onyema, highlighting the critical role of competent personnel in governance.

Reflecting on Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos governor, Onyema underscored the initial scepticism and subsequent admiration for Tinubu’s performance.

“President Tinubu inherited a challenging situation, but his vision and goodwill can drive progress with the right team,” Onyema remarked, urging for capable individuals to collaborate effectively.

Onyema stressed the importance of indigenous investments in fostering a robust economy, advocating for support towards local ventures.

“Indigenous investments play a pivotal role in job creation and national stability,” Onyema emphasized, citing Air Peace’s contributions to the nation’s economy.

Despite initial scepticism, Onyema expressed pride in Air Peace’s achievements and its significant cost-saving measures for travellers.
