  • The Defence Headquarters plans to display banners featuring names and photos of wanted individuals, including terrorists, at strategic locations
  • Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, highlighted the collaboration with security agencies to apprehend wanted suspects

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced its intention to display banners featuring the names and photographs of wanted persons, including terrorists, at strategic locations such as embassies and airports. This initiative follows the recent declaration by the DHQ of over 90 individuals wanted for their involvement in various crimes across different geopolitical zones.

According to Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, the list of wanted individuals includes notorious figures responsible for terrorism, insurgency, and violent criminal activities in the country. Notable among them is Bello Turji, a prominent bandit leader known for wreaking havoc in the Northwest region.

Additionally, Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based leader of a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was listed as wanted for his alleged involvement in inciting activities against the government and military personnel, particularly in the South-East.

The list comprises suspected terrorists from the North-East and North-West regions and insurgents from the South-East and North-Central. Notable individuals declared wanted include Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, and Chika Edoziem, among others.

Edward Buba emphasized the collaborative efforts between the DHQ and other security agencies to apprehend the wanted individuals. He stated that the names and photographs of the suspects would be disseminated to embassies and airports across the country to aid in their apprehension.

This proactive measure by the Defence Headquarters reflects a concerted effort to combat terrorism, insurgency, and other forms of criminality by leveraging international cooperation and enhancing surveillance at key entry and exit points.
