  • Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed warns of legal action against Air Peace for allegedly downgrading his business class ticket without compensation
  • He recounts flight delays and disruptions, expressing frustration over Air Peace’s treatment of passengers, seeking redress through legal means

Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, a member of the House of Representatives representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency and serving as Chairman of the House Committee on Interior, has issued a stern warning of potential legal recourse against Air Peace Limited due to an alleged breach of contract.

Ahmed alleges that the Nigerian airline unilaterally downgraded his flight from business class to economy class despite him having paid approximately N12 million for a trip from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Accompanied by his family for a lesser hajj pilgrimage, Ahmed recounted their ordeal, stating that their scheduled departure from Kano airport on March 27 was delayed until the following day.

Expressing frustration over Air Peace’s recurrent flight delays, disruptions, and sudden schedule alterations, Ahmed emphasized that despite purchasing a business class ticket, the airline arbitrarily reassigned him to economy class without compensation.

Ahmed’s decision to pursue legal action against Air Peace aims to address the mistreatment of passengers in the Nigerian aviation sector.

Another affected passenger, Ibrahim Shehu, called upon the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and relevant government agencies to intervene and facilitate the recovery of funds paid to Air Peace by affected travellers.

As of the time of filing this report, Air Peace had not provided an immediate response to these allegations.
